Man longs for companionship, it is a void that has been placed in us.  The problem is, we seek to fill that void with the creature(other man/woman) rather than the Creator.  That same devotion we put to people of the opposite gender, needs to be put towards God.  God wants our relationship with Him to return to how it was when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, before the fall.

Because there are no signs left that are needed for Jesus to return, we should be ready at all times so that we will not be left behind.  People that believe there is no hell are wrong.  If there was no eternal damnation, Jesus would not have to come and die for our eternal salvation.

Our journey as Christians was not set out to be an easy one, and just like the Israelites, we often start to murmur and consider going back(to our old lives) every time a challenge presents itself.  Our mind/heart cannot be with that old man, we must give it all the way to God.  Then we can experience Him in a new, more profound way.
